Uphams Corner is one of the first towns in Dorchester.
It is the junction of Columbia road, Dudley st, and Stoughton st. It is also home to the well know Strand Theatre.
It is the sight of the old North Burying Ground where the Puritans who settled Dorchester are buried.
By 1900 Uphams Corner was a thriving shopping district. Today it is still home to many stores and a busy market. Amos Upham open the firet general store in Uphams Corner in 1802.
