Using Adobe Photoshop: Cropping

Note: Photoshop LE is being replaced by Photoshop Elements. This is
is good news. Its same price as LE but much more capable.

Most digital cameras take photos that have larger dimensions (800 x 600 or 1024 x 768)
than are useful in web pages. Ideally images in a web page should be 300-500 pixels (dots)
on the largest dimension.

Tip: Crop first, if there is excess image area that you can cut out.
Then Resize after.

Cropping Images

Hit the letter C on your keyboard. This activates the Crop Tool which looks
like this

 

 

Use this tool by clicking and draging a new border for your image that is smaller than
the existing one. Once you have settled on a new border hit the "Enter" key and
this will excute the Crop.
